[ He's... so soft about the fact that Fjord is a little confused but supportive, that look in his eyes empowering in a way that makes him want to stand on the table and yell.

...Molly's gonna shove another fry in his mouth instead. ]

Have anyone figured out who you're dating yet? Jester is so mad at me.

Caleb has, but he's not being a shit about it like the rest. I think he's enjoying lording the information over them.

[ Caleb heard from Caduceus, who has had to listen to Fjord for over a week talking about Molly because of the larp invitation (and in general), so the description was spot-on when the wizard connected the dots between that and who Jester was moaning about. He's playing dumb so smoothly that even Nott hasn't picked up on the way he looks sedately at Fjord. ]

It's not that I don't want them to know, it's just ... [ Sigh. ] As soon as they do I won't have you all to myself anymore and I ... like this. Us.

[ He sucks on his thumb, burger demolished as he gazes at Molly with mild contrition. ]

I'll have to share you eventually, but for now ... We have time.

[ He snorts a little at that, amused that this Caleb is keeping it under wraps. He does like this, though... them just getting to know eachother without their friends breathing down their necks. ]

I agree. I like... being with you. Talking like this. It's all new and strange but... it's a lot better than I thought. I was afraid it would be weird, but I'm happy every time I see a message from you.

[ Reaching over, he picks out his phone from his holo backpack. ]

Speaking of our friends bothering us and all that, I found this shirt at a thrift store the other day that would look good on my character...

[ He holds out the phone, showing a pirate-like white shirt with a deep collar. ]

[ He doesn't know how to articulate how happy hearing Molly's pleasure makes him so that hand gets another peck on the inside, this time, on the palm before Molly takes it away. Fjord leans forward to see the shirt and is all enthusiasm. ]

That looks great! If you still wanted some swords, by the way, I have a friend who's willing to give me theirs. They made a sea-themed cutlass for me but they still have two bases left and nothing to do with them, I told them it was your first larp and they didn't want paying. Just for you to have a good time.

[ Oh. Oh, how sweet that is. Molly gently retuns it, lettigmn his lips linger just a moment before he goes back to the topic. ]

Oh? That's really kind of them, but I'd be happy to pay or at least plug them on my Insta! I think I'm more of a dual-wielder anyway so it would be perfect.

[ He seems so excited, and Molly isn't sure if it's because Fjord is or not. He has no idea what to expect from this thing but the half-orc is hyping him up for it. ]

Oh, so you're a dual wielder now, are you? That's some fancy fucking handiwork there, what's the backstory for that?

[ He's excited for Molly to have a good time, leaning forward on a bent arm as he munches away at his lunch. ]

[ He says with a laugh, and then flips a fry between his fingers like a tiny baton. ]

I'm good with my hands, I guess?

[ Molly's been in contact with the organizers of the event and had a lot of fun discussions, and he might have a whole gallon of fake blood at home. ]

I'll guess I'll have to take your word for it, Mister Two-Swords.

[ The flirting isn't so subtle after their first date; Mollymauk knows Fjord enjoys whatever content he puts out. The attraction has a decent foundation of trust, insomuch as it can this early on, but Fjord makes no secret of how much he wants him. Not overtly, but in teasing comments like this one where he waggles his brows and sighs, acting as if he'll be the last person on earth to ever feel those hands on him when it's (hopefully) the opposite.

He has to send out feelers as to whether Molly wants to get closer to him, too. ]

[ Molly's eyes are full of happy affection above that unsubtle heat, and he can't believe how much he's enjoying these dates. Normally they would have fucked already, but he's kind of enjoying the slowness of it, the way they get to know eathother more and more as they hang out.

Not to say he's not terribly horny and thinks about Fjord sometimes (all the time) when he does videos, but funnily enough he has a near-Pavlovian response to Fjord's ring tone that sends shivers of happiness rather than intense lust. (Well, maybe a little lust when he gets pictures.)

(The way he eats his fry is in no way subtle, either, slipping it between his lips while keeping eye contact.)

They say people put out on the third date, but he's going to be on a field screaming at fake monsters, so probably not. ]

Yasha is kind of excited too, in her own way. She got herself a really big sword and then I had to break it to her that they need to be foam. It's on her wall now, it's amazing.

[ Fjord thinks he could live his whole life in a relationship like this, subsisting on the positive reinforcement and emotional support, it's a world away from Avantika. He'll have to kiss him twice when they leave today, just so he can look forward to the second where he'll nibble on those lips that are taking such good care of fries.

He barks with laughter when he hears about Yasha's purchase. ]

She bought a real fucking sword? Oh my god, that's amazing. What's she dressing up as?

[ It's so different from everything he has ever had before. It's like being with Yasha, only with sexual attraction involved.... although that might sound weird to some. She's his best reference for trust and happiness, though.

Of course that means he loves talking about her. ]

She sure did! That thing is the size of me, Fjord! It's really cool, but I can't even lift it.

[ He snorts, so amused by his best friend. ]

It's not sharp so it's not like she was going to go out murdering people, but still. She's going as a barbarian, though, and she's going to be my older sister. Apparently our parents had a lot of divine and fiendish lovers in their family history.

[ Pulling up his phone again, he starts scrolling a bit and then hands it over to Fjord. On it is a couch that holds a seated Yasha, looking a little younger and more haunted, and a younger Molly in her arms, head almost shaved and expression somewhere between vacant and soft as he leans his head to her shoudler. ]

Our first week together.

[ It stings something soft in his heart to see Molly with his hair cut short like that, smaller and absent of his usual flair. ]

Oh, Molly ... [ He has to say something that isn't I wish you had never been hurt because that's vapid and pointless as fuck. ] So you weren't always cute, huh? Gangly, weedy thing.

[ He says it fondly, finding the menu to tap him on the arm. ]

Here, pick which ice cream we're sharing.

Excuse you I was very cute! [ Molly says with a chuckle. ] I was the bomb to the seven-year-old girl there.

[ He links their fingers together with a smile. Everything Fjord says just makes him feel good about himself. There's gentleness without coddling and kindness without judging. His heart is stupidly full and Molly almost misses what the half-orc says next. ]

Hm? Oh, ice cream?

[ Grabbing the menu, he flips to the dessert section with a grin. ]

Oh, shit, they're homemade! I'm a chocolate person myself, so the brownie choco one sounds perfectly decadent. Is that good?

[halforc]

I'm fine with whatever you want. Stick a waffle in it for me, too.

[ This is their life now, dates of delicious food and cooing over each other. It could be worse, honestly, Fjord looks so demurely pleased with his life as he chins a hand to watch Molly hoot over flavours. ]

I've decided to keep mine and Deuces' tent in the out-of-character field next to yours, so you can find us easily if you need something at night.

You got it!

[ He raises his menu politely so that the waitress can get over in her own pace. Molly sweet-talks the matronly halfling woman about ice cream, and she pinches his cheek like a loving grandmother and tuts off to get them their treat.

Eyes back on Fjord, the tiefling smiles again. ]

Really? You don't have to do that, I don't want you to miss out because of newbies.

[halforc]

It's no trouble, we'll always try to be back in the normie-field around nine or ten at night. Nobody keeps their phones on them in the day, making it awfully hard to stay in contact, so whenever you want to explore on your own you'll still know where I'll be at a certain time. Besides, passing out on the "tavern" floor full of floor cushions and pillows might not be a good idea with the weather turning chilly.

[ He fully expects Mollymauk and Yasha to run off and do their own thing, so keeping a touchstone location seems wise. If Molly has any memory lapses, then there's somewhere he can be safe; or even if he just doesn't enjoy himself. ]

I'll keep a cooler of water and snacks in my tent in case anyone gets dehydrated or hungry, feel free to pilfer from it.

You are a sweetheart, Fjord.

[ He really is, and planning a thing like this seems amazingly thoughtful to him. Both because they're newbies, and because he knows Molly might not like it and would just hang out in the tent eating chips the whole weekend.

(Or forget where he is.)

Neither is going to happen, though. He's so excited for this. ]

I'm going to love seeing what people are wearing, I hope I can stay in character.

It's all bullshit, don't worry. There will be people wearing full plate armour, the real kind, because they're bonkers and planning on not actually hitting anything on the battlefield, and you'll never look weirder than they do. Just invent whatever you want and they'll lap it up.

[ He clears his throat as their dessert arrives, sticking his nose in the air. ]

I, of course, will be immune to your charms as a holy man.

Oh, really?

[ Now you're fucked, Fjord, because Molly immediately takes that as a challenge.

...this ice cream is also a challenge, with four scoops, a waffle and a cute little sugar heart. The halfling woman winks and then heads off again. ]

What if I'm playing a cleric, hmm?

[halforc]

Then I look forward to watching you refrain from flirting with other players.

[ That sugary heart is cronched in half as he snags a scoop of ice cream up with it, smug with pink wafer on his lips. ]

[devilstongue]

Gods, good thing I'm not a cleric, then.

[ He picks up his own spoon, taking some ice cream on it and slipping his forked tongue out to lick it with a sigh of pleasure. All while keeping eye contact. ]

It would be so unlike me.

[halforc]

You're not going to tell me what you picked for your class, are you?

[ He chomps on his own spoonful of ice cream, lapping it in broad strokes to counter the delicate flicks of that forked tongue. ]

[devilstongue]

You told me not to, darling.

[ He winks, sucking the ice cream off his spoon and diving in for another. ]

Not a caster, though. Technically.

[halforc]

You keep teasing me, though!

[ He's existing in limbo!!

Seeing what Molly is up to he drops his own spoon and takes hold of Molly's hand once he has his next spoonful, looming forward to lick it off, eyes on him. ]

Stop hogging all the best bits.

Oh, I know. It's hilarious.

[ It's cute when he's so curious and frustrated in one!

Molly's not quite prepared for the ice cream raid, though, and his eyes widen a bit as that broad tongue 'steals' his. It looks so good, and he's not talking about the ice cream, here. To feel that on his body, suck on it when they kiss... fuck, now he has a semi in the little mom-and-pop restaurant. ]

Mm... I think you're the one hogging all the best bits there, love.
