[ Tal is a little more of a shit than Molly, this is definitely a fun time for the tiefling as he makes-believe. ]
Would that be the sort of living issue where you need me to put them up for a night or the kind where they're acting undead? One of those I can help with.
The kind where they are trying to eat other people's faces. So the latter, with more hungry.
[ He backs away a bit and then throws his hands up in 'frustration'. ]
I don't know how this happened! If it gets out, we're ruined... so I thought, since you're a man of honor and almost broke your oath, I am asking you to handle this.
Well, I don't have a gold on me, so whatever gets me what I want! It's a rough world out there even without people trying to eat you.
[ Tal says, a little sourly even if Molly is doing his best to not smile. ]
...plus you're a paladin, so I doubt a roll in the hay isn't going to pay for it, either. [ Oohh, it's so hard to keep in character! ] So blackmail and all that other stuff it is.
[ What a badass. The kiss lingers, a smile pressed into it before he rises from his seat. ]
Show me where the monsters are, then. [ Travis sweeps his cloak over a shoulder, hand on the hilt of his sword. ] I need something to work up my appetite for dinner. They'll do.
[ That kind of makes him sound more like a murderer than a champion for peace, and Molly really has to stop himself from laughing. The rest is pretty damn cool, though, and he eyes 'Travis' shamelessly. Character and outfit aside... that's his boyfriend. What a fucking lucky bitch he is. ]
Very well. This way.
[ He leads Fjord to a tent at the very corner of the IC field, where there's a mock 'shed'. Some people seem to have been here already to help him with the zombies, and now it's Travis turn. After all, Molly's been letting a lot of people feel like heroes today, and he's ending it with the two 'last' zombies for Fjord. ]
Careful, paladin. One bite and they turn you.
[ He draws his own scimitars, but stays to the side, using one to unlatch the 'shed'. The two crew members dressed as zombies immediately stumble towards them with horrible groans, and suddenly Matt is there again to keep an eye on things. ]
[ Midway through the 'fight' with the zombies, everything has to be paused and Matt jogs off to find a crewmember willing to put on one of the bigger suits ... because Fjord summons a Barlgura. Turns out, he isn't as strong as he looks and the extra demon is needed to squash one zombie as he deals with the other. Much fairer odds!
Kind of embarrassing but the important thing is that he wins and he gets to see Matt in the gorilla costume himself, with no one else willing. ]
Victory! Are you satisfied now, Tal? Is my honour restored?
[ Molly is so damn amazed by it all that 'Tal' has just generally been staring the whole time until one of the zombies decides to go for him and he has to blind it with a spell.
At Travis' question, he gives a flourish bow and takes the half-orc's hand. ]
Your honor, and have my apology as well. I am satisfied, my carnival is saved, and poor souls have been led to rest.
[ It's getting to the end of the day by now, and all the talking Molly did with the larp staff before coming here had really paid off. Not only did he get a plot thing, but damn if he didn't have a good time overall.
Now he's kind of tired with all the excitement, though, and decides to have a drink at the tavern to 'celebrate'. His treat, if anyone wants to join him. ]
[ It's been a wild weekend by the time everyone is vaguely drunk again in the evening, enjoying the last round of drinks (and a toast is raised to Tal and Ashley for their bravery). Fjord finds himself watching Molly in his ridiculous coat as the guy flounces around, charming and annoying in one, and finds all he wants is to lie down with him in a tent and kiss that smiling mouth.
He doubts Molly wants to share a tent for a second night running though, so an effort is made even when they all leave the field for the OOC one, not to be too eager. He gives him some space and instead asks Yasha how her first larping weekend went, all the way back to their tents. ]
[ Yasha seems to have had a good time, even if she was a bit confused all the time and it was a kind of overwhelming. She's happy Molly's happy, though, and he's taking her to a flower nursery next weekend - because he's Molly and wants her to have a good time too.
Seems it was pretty cool for her, though.
As soon as they reach their tents, they find Caduceus and a really nice dinner (well, as good as you can do over trivets and fire). Molly slides onto the picnic blanket and as soon as Fjord joins, he puts his head in the half-orc's lap and his feet in Yasha's. ]
[ Bless Caduceus and his low tolerance for Sunday larping; the meal is wolfed down. Fjord plays with Molly's hair as they all sit and chatter, only blushing when Caduceus speaks up with genuine curiosity.
Are we sticking to the sleeping arrangements from yesterday? Well, if we switch our bags out. That might help a lot. With the actual sleeping, this time.
[ Molly is half-dozing by the time his stomach is full, and he's just so relaxed by the hair playing, curls a little dry after the bottle shower. (He'll have to do a hair mask tomorrow.)
His tail swishes a bit as he hears Caduceus, and he looks up at Fjord with a smile. ]
Well, if I sleep in your tent again I might not be able to keep my hands off you, and it was kind of a mess.
[ He chuckles, so fond, before his gaze slides to the firbolg again. ]
I'll stay with Yash, I'm not going to accidentally kick you out of your own tent again, Cad.
[ There's a nod, so they seem to be chill with eachother. ]
...but we'll have another date ASAP. Netflix and chill?
[ Oh, I'm not surprised by anything you guys get up to, don't worry.
Fjord manages to mostly keep a straight face as Caduceus tidies away the plates, amusement swapped for mild disappointment that he tries to keep hidden. It was a lot last night, Molly needs his space. ]
Netflix and pizza, sure.
[ It's a little late to be embarrassed by other people knowing they're having sex but there's no need to pinpoint the occasion for them. ]
Let's get everything packed up so we can just take the tents down first thing and drive to a Starbucks at dawn. I'll die without caffeine.
[ Molly sits up and leans in to kiss Fjord, a long, sweet kiss with all the emotions he can manage this early in their relationship, and some stronger ones he's a little afraid of. Fuck, this was technically their third date. Third! ]
A man after my own heart.
[ Starbucks and pizza. Wonderful!
He 'helps' cleaning up, where helping is essentially handing people some utensils. Thankfully, he then actually gets up to fold the blanket and turn off the trivet.]
[ Goodnight! says Caduceus: from Yasha's tent. Fjord freezes. ]
Deuces, no, you're not sleeping in there toni —
[ Mollymauk said he didn't want to accidentally steal my place, so I switched deliberately. Fjord doesn't know if he's got the best wingman ever or one super oblivious friend. Probably both. So everything's square, isn't it?
Fjord stammers then looks at Molly for help, not immediately damning Caduceus but also very unsure of forcing Molly to share his space. ]
[ Molly looks over at the tent, then at Yasha who just shrugs, and then finally at Fjord who honestly looks a bit mortified. There's a small snort at that, that quickly wells into laughter. ]
Let's go to bed, then, since's he's so charitable.
[ First, however, he goes to hug Yasha and kiss her forehead (after gently tugging on a lock of her hair so she got on his level), whispering something to her and then laughing again. Molly gives her another fond look and goes back to Fjord.
Yeah, sure. [ The light tone vanishes as he eyes Caduceus, who is far too innocent to be for real. Hmm. ] Goodnight, Caduceus.
[ Fjord heads in with Molly, stripping down to his boxers and a tshirt as the weird feeling of literally sleeping with someone next to him brings up old memories of dormitories. It's a completely different scenario to the one of last night and he's halfway into his sleeping bag when he hesitates, unsure whether Molly would want to share again or have his own space. ]
Today was fun, huh?
[ He'll just ... wait to see if Molly sends out any cues or hints. ]
[ This time Yasha gives Molly his pillow, so he takes that as a BFF blessing and just goes for it. He throws his clothes everywhere, down to his underwear in just a few seconds. Turning, he sees Fjord almost into his sleeping bag already, and suddenly realizes that he might have misunderstood this. ]
Uh... yeah. It was great! I can't believe they let me have a plot thing or that I managed to hide it for so long.
[ The cue is disappointment, honestly, but he'll deal with no cuddle - maybe yesterday was too weird, or this is too weird, sleeping together without having sex...
He looks around for the other sleeping bag... and realizing Caduceus took that with him to the other tent. Molly has an internal struggle with himself, because if this was just a fling he'd just demand Fjord to scoot over, they're sharing. This, though... he didn't want to look too needy. Gods know he was, and how much of a turn-off that could be. ]
[ Molly looks so uncomfortable, eyeing Fjord and his sleeping bag like that. Then he's making his excuse to leave and Fjord just nods, looking around the empty tent alone, wondering how he's supposed to navigate this ...
He has an idea, although it can wait for when Molly gets back. ]
[ A hundred worries run through his mind as he gets his sleeping bag (Yasha gives him a look) and then heads back. Part of him wonders if he even should, but it wasn't as if Fjord had protested them sharing the tent, just being embarrassed.
(He was cute when he was all flustered.)
Maybe he really did scare him off by being too much of a slut, but the way he had played with his hair and been sweet during dinner... fuck, he's missing a lot of things here. Probably shit he was supposed to learn just before his head was cracked open.Suddenly those missing last years of teenhood that he kind of skipped? All way too obvious now.
If this was some random person he'd just be laughing and all jokes and flirts, just being annoying instead, but he cared about Fjord. Molly just... doesn't know how to have a relationship.
Returning to the other tent, he tosses the sleeping bag on the ground. ]
Hey — Oh. [ He watches the sleeping bag get yeeted from the door, blinking for a moment as he recollects his prepared words and tries not to take that as a bad sign. ] Hey, so, I checked the weather on my phone and it's going to get cold tonight, rain and all. If you want to, we could zip our sleeping bags together into a big one and share it. Might help? Body-heat. That's what I mean, body-heat helps.
[ Quickly followed by, ]
Only if you want to, if you'd rather stay in your own we could pile some clothes on top of your bag and keep you warm that way. Layering works wonders!
[ Don't sound too eager! ]
... Not that I care about. Layering. As a preference.
[ Molly stands there for a moment, very confused. Then he sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. Okay, he has to get this right. ]
...do you want to sleep together or not? I'm getting really mixed signals here. Is it too quick?
[ He sighs, moving over to lay his sleeping bag right next to Fjord's. ]
I don't know how to do this, I've never... had to deal with things the day after, you know? Never had something stable, so you have to help me a bit because I'm fucking confused. I just want to sleep, preferably next to you.
Yes, same. I just asked if you want to sleep together, actually.
[ He thinks. Didn't he? With the ... zipping ... suggestion. Maybe that was a bit convoluted. ]
I, [ his smile comes with a sigh, ] I was trying to be a gentleman and give you an out. I would like to sleep — quite literally — with you tonight, yes.
