[ As the day devolves into the usual insanity of a fight they barely make it out of with their lives, Fjord is one of the first to take up the hot tub as he and Caleb, caught in a blast of exploding ogre-slug, slough off gore and viscera (and a little puke, although he can't blame his friend for that personal addition at all). It's past what he assumes to be a decent hour since the lights in the neighbourhood are lowered yet none of the Nein are tired and those who were fortunate enough to avoid the blast of meaty mulch are hungrier than either the Paladin or Wizard will probably ever be again, sharing a woebegone look as Caduceus cheerily starts up a late dinner.

Molly disappears along with the girls the second Fjord and Caleb are clean, which is no surprise as his dark hair is looking suspiciously slimy. Maybe he didn't avoid as much of the finale as Fjord thought.

It's a full hour before everyone is freshly dressed and seated in the lounge with Caduceus's stew on their laps, groaning from the bruises that healing spells didn't quite fade and seeking comfort in the company of each other, alive and well. It's during one of Veth's callous yet hilarious takes that Fjord's gaze slides across the room to Molly as the tiefling reaches for a hunk of bread —

— and Fjord almost chokes on his dinner as he spots red lace strapped over the curve of a lavender pec.

He stares long enough for Veth to be annoyed at his ignorance and by the time he glances back the bastard is covered up again. It's like a vision from another life, the morning feels like it was ten years ago and the promise of Tonight a forgotten delight to look forward to. ]
